Q: How much does Ultimatum charge for each transaction?
A: We are a for-profit social enterprise and committed to being self-sustaining and growing our impact. As such, we charge a 9% platform fee each time a customer's credit card is charged. Note that we also pay a fee to our credit card processor of $0.30 plus 2.9% of the total transaction. This fee goes directly to our credit card payment processor, Stripe, and is not set or controlled by Ultimatum.
Q: When is my credit card charged?
A: We do not charge a customer's credit card every time a pledge is activated. Instead, we charge a customer when they have $25.00 or more in pledges that are queued for funding. If a customer's fulfilled pledges do not reach a total of $25.00 in 60 calendar days, we may charge the amount of the outstanding pledges at that time.
