Q: How much of my pledge is disbursed to a non-profit?
A: As we explain in Credit Card Charges and Fees, we charge a fee of 9% for each transaction on the Ultimatum platform. We also pay a fee to our credit card processor of $0.30 plus 2.9% of the transaction. So if you fulfill a single pledge of $25, here is the breakdown of the fees and amount disbursed to the non-profit:
- Total amount pledged: $25
- Ultimatum platform fee: $2.25
- Credit card transaction fee: $1.03
- Total amount disbursed to the non-profit: $21.72
- Percentage of the pledge disbursed to the non-profit: ~87%
Q: When will a pledge be disbursed to a non-profit?
A: We collect all of the pledges made to made to a particular non-profit over one quarter (or 3 months). At the end of each quarter, we mail a check to each non-profit who received pledges on our platform. Our company quarters fall at the end of these months during the year: March, June, September, December.
